Hey Competition Group Families!

I am sending you this email to be completely transparent, here is our predicament. I want to be able to place our down payment for Fame sometime this week. We are already a month late, but the kind people at Fame are taking care of us so that’s not a problem. We have enough money for the $7,000 down payment thanks to our show. My concern comes from the remaining $18,000 dollars that we would have to fundraise. It costs us $250 dollars per student to participate. If this was our only cost then it wouldn’t be a problem, however we still have other expenses such as our choreographers and our accompanist.

We discussed the possibilities of the Fame competition at our previous parent meeting. Yes it is a lot of money, however its benefit to our students is unparalleled. Both choirs are incredibly excited to experience Fame. The parents at the meeting were excited as well and wanted to do everything they can to send our students to Fame.

We have some alternatives. If we do not go to Fame, we could spend that money on better backdrops for our competition set as well as beginning our room renovations.

At this time I am asking for your thoughts and opinions in scheduling Fame for this academic year. This is a top agenda item for our next meeting on the 24th of October at 8 p.m. Please come to this scheduled meeting as I am looking to you for your opinions. Do not hesitate to email me with any questions you have. If our parent committees or any other parents would like to have an emergency meeting I would be happy to do so!
